Chuba Akpom Makes Outrageous Claim About Jack Wilshere

Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom has outrageously claimed that Jack Wilshere is one of the best English footballers of all time. Akpom, who is currently on a short-term loan with STVV, gave his surprise opinion shortly after a league game in the Jupiler league. Speaking to reporters, he said: “For me, Jack Wilshere is the best English footballer of all time. From Arsenal’s academy, he made it to the Premier League, and he became my idol. Jack is a natural talent, with an elegant control of the ball.”

Obviously, Wilshere has the natural ability of producing top-class performances on his day, but to compare him with some of the legends of the English game seems bizarre. The 26-year-old has had numerous injury concerns over his time at the Emirates, and this has hampered his progress to the point that the club were willing to offload him last summer. (more…)

Jack Wilshere looks good in Arsenal training – Arsene Wenger

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted that Jack Wilshere is hitting form in training as he prepares for his first appearance in the Gunners shirt this season.

The England international played no part in the club’s pre-season tour of Australia and China as he was recovering from a hairline fracture on his leg.

Wenger has opted to rest the likes of Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil ahead of Thursday’s Europa League clash against Cologne, and the Frenchman has hinted that Wilshere could play a part in the game, he said: “There was always a huge pressure on him to come back as quickly as possible and to expect a lot. He’s on a good way in training. He’s getting stronger and stronger every day, and that’s what we want from him. He was injured at the start of the season from last season, so he was a bit behind the other players but he’s getting better and better. Every game is an opportunity for him and this season’s a good opportunity for him as well.” (more…)

Wenger: Wilshere still not ready for Premier League

Jack Wilshere has not played an official competitive match for Arsenal since April after picking up an ankle injury that has not allowed him to play for around 6 months. This injury has even forced Wilshere on staying out of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers for England.

Arsene Wenger has recently voiced details concerning the current situation of the 25 year old English midfielder. (more…)

Arsenal legend urges Jack Wilshere to make West Ham United move

Arsenal legend-turned-pundit Ray Parlour has urged midfielder Jack Wilshere to make a switch to West Ham United during this summer’s transfer window.

The England international has recently recovered from his leg fracture sustained during his loan spell with Bournemouth last term.

Wilshere, now 25, faces a tough task of retaining a spot in the Gunners’ first-team, and he has been allowed to feature for the Under 23s side in order to prove his fitness. With less than a year left on his contract, the midfielder has not found any suitors willing to match his £20m valuation, and this could see him stuck in the Gunners’ squad for the summer at least.

Parlour, who was part of the Gunners’ Premier League-winning invincible squad in the 2003/04, believes the Hammers would be the perfect fit for a player of Wilshere’s calibre, he told TalkSPORT: West Ham would be a great fit for him. He’s got young children and you know if you go abroad he won’t be seeing them kids on a regular basis. He wants to be part of their lives growing up so he wants to stay in England if he can.West Ham would be a perfect fit, definitely.” (more…)

Bayern Munich is already ahead of all the clubs in terms of quality

Arturo Vidal reckons Bayern Munich is already ahead of all the clubs in terms of quality, but, if his countryman Alexis Sanchez becomes a part of it, that will make it an even more efficient and powerful team.

Sanchez is presently at Arsenal and he’s been their most fruitful player in the recent seasons. They therefore are trying their best to keep hold of him and have put an extension proposal in front of him, but, the Chile international has not shown any hurry to pen it down yet.

Given Arsenal’s dependence on Sanchez, the chances are slim that they would entertain any bids coming for him this summer, but, if there is no agreement on the new deal, they won’t be able to stop him him from leaving for a long time because he would be out of contract once the 2017-18 season finishes and would then make his way out as a free agent.

Bayern is looking for some strong striking options to ease the pressure off their main striker Robert Lewandowski and because they have heard some great things about Sanchez from his countryman Vidal, they are eager to lure him to Munich. (more…)

Arsene Wenger comments on Sir Alex Ferguson’s stint

Arsene Wenger doesn’t think that his stint at Arsenal will stretch up to the length that Sir Alex Ferguson’s stint at Man U did.

Ferguson’s stint at Man U was more than two and a half decade long and that’s the longest stint for a manager at a particular club in the history of Football.

Wenger is getting there too as he has also spent two decades with the Gunners now, but, he reckons he would eventually remain short of the record set by Ferguson.

As per Wenger, if the lengths of the tenure of the coaches in modern Football are measured on an average, it will be somewhere around one and a half years. So, for him and Ferguson to remain associated with a single club for such a huge duration is definitely not usual in this day and age and one would have to say what Ferguson achieved during his time at Old Trafford was incredible.

Before this season, it was thought that the Arsenal hierarchy would probably like to get rid of Wenger in the summer of 2017 and would rope in a new face at the helm, but, now, it looks like the hierarchy is in favour of continuing with the 67-year old.

Wenger, however, had suggested a couple of days ago that he was not sure of the finalisation of a new deal and the upcoming Cup final might prove to be his Swansong at Arsenal, but, he had stressed that even if that was the case, it wouldn’t be the end of his coaching career altogether and he would keep plying his trade elsewhere.

In the winters, a club from China had come to Wenger with the proposition of paying him thrice the Wages that he was getting at Arsenal. The Frenchman had said no to that back then, but, if he does take an exit from Emirates, he may be lured to China. Who knows?

Steve Cook wasn’t impressed

Steve Cook wasn’t impressed with the reaction of the home supporters at White Hart lane yesterday when Jack Wilshere was leaving the pitch in pain.

Wilshere damaged his ankle in the second half and didn’t find himself in a position to carry on. So he decided to go out, but, he was struggling to even walk and somehow dragged himself on one foot to the locker room and that was not a good sight at all.

But, as far as Tottenham fans are concerned, for them, it was something to celebrate. They found a lot of joy in that as they whistled and shouted at Wilshere, making fun of him and his injury and that didn’t please Cook who was feeling for his teammate.

Cook thought that it was morally not correct of Tottenham fans to do something like that despite the soured relationship they have had with the Gunners and Wilshere in particular over the years. (more…)

Bournemouth’s Eddie Howe is not worried about Jack Wilshere’s injury

Jack Wilshere is currently performing with Bournemouth on a season long loan deal and so far, the English player has made a positive impact as he is a regular starter in the Premier League club and he is attempting to help the team in avoiding the bottom relegation zone but a recent injury might leave Wilshere out of action for a few games.

Bournemouth faced off with Manchester City on February 13 and sustained a 0-2 defeat and to make things even worse for the team of Eddie Howe, Jack Wilshere had to leave the pitch at the 45th minute after picking up an ankle injury.

When it comes to getting injured, Jack Wilshere is no stranger to this as the English player has consistently been injured in different periods of his career starting way back from October of 2009. (more…)

Jack Wilshere yet to Make Decision on Arsenal Future, ClaimsAfobe

Jack Wilshere had to move away from Arsenal on a temporary basis in order to prove that he is more than just a highly talented midfielder who can play only a handful of games during the course of a season.

The injury hit midfielder has struggled to even cross 30 appearances in a single campaign. Despite his obvious talent, his injury record is proving to be a major limiting factor towards his stay at Arsenal. This led to the loan move to Bournemouth – his first loan move since the days at Bolton.

One of the major factors behind this move was the presence of manager Eddie Howe, a manager who places a lot of emphasis on Arsene Wenger’s philosophy of beautiful football. The loan move could not have gone any better for Wilshere, as he has been integral to the club’s success in the league this season. Despite being a newly promoted outfit, Bournemouth have not shown any problems with the threat of relegation and they are even aiming for a top-10 finish. (more…)

AC MILAN BATTLE BOURNEMOUTH FOR JACK WILSHERE

AC Milan have been linked to Arsenal’s player Jack Wilshere for long but with the move of the player to Bournemouth on loan, a permanent deal seemed feasible.

However, reports in Italy claim that Milan want to renew their interest in the player at the end of the season. Before the move to Bournemouth, the Milan-based club were in pole position to sign Wilshere but Coach Arsene Wenger seemed to prefer a local option short-term arrangement to watch the player.

There were reported interests from West Ham, and Roma aside Milan’s. Wilshere has had an influence at Bournemouth since his move but a return to the Emirates seems unlikely. Wilshere has not scored a goal – though he has hit the post four times – or made an assist but his stats have been decent at Bournemouth. This is probably the reason AC Milan want to make a swoop for the player.

Daily Star say AC Milan would make a move for the player during the summer as Arsenal would be forced to make a decision on the player who would have just a year on his deal. Wilshere has prospered under coach Eddie Howe at Bournemouth as his injury tendencies have been better managed.

“We worked very hard with him when he first came, in training not to overload him with work and on game-time to ease him into 90 minutes. We didn’t want to demand too much of him too early. Hopefully, we’ve got that balance right and we’re at a stage now where he can tolerate that load,” Howe said.

Wilshere was spectacular for Bournemouth in the game against Stoke, and it might help the player decide against a move to Italy when he seems to be in good form at Bournemouth.
